App transition free-to-paid

With this version [v1.9.0] the Customfield Editor for Jira transitions to a paid App. We want the reasons to be transparent for you, so you can understand our motives:

The evolution

  • All started in 2012 with a small idea to make a Jira-Administrator's life easier.

  • In 2014 the first version of the Customfield Editor for Jira was released to share this “milestone” with others.

  • In the last five years we have invested our spare time and a lot of work to improve the functionality.

What has changed for us

  • Atlassian Jira made big changes in the last two years - just to name a few: shorter Jira release cycles, high perfomance requirements for Data Center and Jira 8 compatibility. So the main reason for the free-to-paid transition is that developing is getting very time-consuming and cost-intensive for us.

  • The Customfield Editor for Jira enjoys great popularity and we have many ideas for implementing more features. This made us found codeclou as a startup in January 2019.

That will change for you

  • We will invest more time in developing and extending the functionalities - so the main goals for 2019 are to achieve Data Center compatibility and implementing a fresh re-design with improved usability - Version 2.0.0 is in the making.

  • Afterwards we will attend to new features and your feature wishes.

  • Starting today you get support via the easy to use codeclou Service Desk that handles all support requests with better privacy. Here you can ask us anything, report bugs or address your feature wishes.

  • To keep you updated on features that are planned, what we are working on and what's released next you can have a look at the CEP-Roadmap. Your feature wishes from the Service Desk will be added to the board.
